Thomas Gean

Hi! My name is Thomas Gean, and I’m a graduate student in the Chong Liu lab. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, before moving to Santa Barbara for undergrad. I graduated from UCSB in 2020 with a B.S. in Chemistry, and during my time there I had the good fortune of doing undergraduate research in Lior Sepunaru’s lab. My specialization is inorganic chemistry, specifically electrochemical systems applicable to machine learning models. Outside of the lab, I like trying the different restaurants around LA, playing video games, and playing tabletop games with friends. I always hope to learn more about electrochemistry and electron transfer processes, and I believe that computational modeling can serve a pivotal role to that end.
